I just got up just to see a big thread so I can't say I read everything carefully, but IIRC (before I switched kde's language to English) I couldn't get wxWidgets to display utf-8 characters. Does anyone have any experience on that? IIRC audacity uses wxWidgets (yeah, looks ugly to me), so please: if it can display utf-8, tell me how because I need it here, if it cannot, it has to be rejected. Besides, I remember trying to compile wxWidgets on Slackware and it was an unbelievable hassle, I gave up. However, I haven't actually *used* it, I just used programs that use it, so I might be way off here.
