This is the source of many of my frustrations/screaming at the computer
sessions since I've come to uni, and I've only just figured it out.
When you set the proxy settings on default config and then create a profile,
those proxy settings aren't copied to the new profile's config. This has
resulted (for me) in freezes when trying to log other people in, when trying
to log in after removing ~/.amsn etc. It seems logical that the proxy
settings should be copied to every user if they're set in the default
config, no?
