What error? I can't reproduce this. Due to connection issues, I was forced 
several times to use a socks proxy over ssh. When the server isn't 
running, aMSN just used to freeze as soon as I pressed Connect, but this 
was also fixed, so now it just says "connection refused". Could you paste 
the error message somewhere?
