I believe i can just continue saying "no, sorry, bye bye", but
anyways, I want to at least give others a chance to give their opinion...
I still disagree with it, and it looks like Alvaro also disagrees,
so... anyone else wants to share his opinion ?
(but well.. I could do with 6K USD in my (personal) account every
month.. then leave my job and start working full time on amsn :p)
What I REALLY want to know is a detailed explanation to :
"since we don't care about the revenue, we could give all the revenue
to you. what we want is traffic"
lol, wtf? why would they say "we don't care about the revenue" ? and
all they want is traffic, yeah ok, but isn't traffic supposed to be
what gives them their revenue ? so they want traffic to get more
revenue? if yes, then why they say they don't care about the revenue,
lol, I'm lost, and i'm really curious about this :D
Maybe the traffic of people coming to download amsn will help them get
other software downloaded and they have some sort of 'sponsored
download' or something... so if you download norton antivirus from
them, norton gives them some money or whatever...I don't know :)
any other hypothesis ? :D
oh, about editor's pick, i'll answer that we have about a thousand
editor's picks and we have a rule not to put themin our website...
(btw, i found a 'softpedia pick' in our links side panel.. I just
removed it! wtf...)

It is just that we are in two different postions to deal with this
issue. Now i know that you have no benefit from the software just like
you said you did it for fun.
But you have to understand that many of the others don't like you, and
they did it for money. that is why i said this was a win-win
cooperation. you see you get 50 000 downloads every day, and this can
make big money from the revenue share. we have a case which generates
30k downloads and can get more than 6k dollars per month. and this is
not an incredibly huge advantage to us only, since we don't care about
the revenue, we could give all the revenue to you. what we want is
traffic. anyway, I respect your decision. I don't feel any animosity
just like i said we are in two different positions.
and we gave aMSN pick award, is it possible to place that award on
your website?

downloads every day... so I don't really see what benefit it would
give us to cooperate with us (including the fact that more
downloads equals more of my free time being wasted to help users
with their problems)... From my point of view, having a link to
your website would be an incredibly huge advantage to you and you
only, which is why I feel that there is no need for any kind of
cooperation.
And to answer your question, yes, we could add mirror download to
you on our website, but it would only confuse the users since
they'd get two choices instead of one click and it downloads...
And there is no reason for us to have mirrors since sourceforge is
already extremely competent and has a huge number of mirrors and
they all seem to work fine (never had any problems with their
mirroring system), so there's no reason to "fix" something that
isn't broken...
I hope this helped you understand my decision and I hope you feel
no animosity from our part and that you weren't offended by
anything I said.
But anyways, like I said, you are free to distribute aMSN (for
free) on your website, we have no reason to prevent you from doing
so, and we hope you can get increased revenue by hosting our
application without needing us to do any kind of extra cooperation
(less paperwork is always better, right? :-) )

We don't specifically have a download list and list of
mirrors, we host our project on SourceForge.net which
already has a huge amount of mirrors that deliver very
fast speeds and we don't need any more mirrors, as much as
we can't add our own custom mirrors to sourceforge's system.
However, you can obviously host aMSN on your website (it's
free to distribute).
