we host around 300 sites now, and use analog for all
of them. i'm not sure how our clients use their
stats; i'd guess that half of the clients read
the stats, and pay the most attention to the
basic numbers: requests and pages per month.

i haven't activated any session counting (frankly,
i didn't know that existed), but i probably will
do so soon.

i personally use page requests as the single most
important number to gauge site "popularity".
if i want to look at areas of a site, i use
the directory report.

as a hosting service, our company is most
interested in total requests and total bytes,
as we bill for bandwidth over a certain amount.

several of our sites are highly complex and
CGI-dependent, and analog doesn't handle (complex)
CGI sites very well. i use my own logprocessing
program for those sites.

analog is a great program; i'm impressed by
all of it, but maybe the most by how -fast- it is.

so that's how i use it...
