You're right, there may be a compiler issue as well. The current version of
analog is indeed compiled with MSVC++. I have at previous times used two other
compilers. I gave up on Cygnus because it required all users to download
that enormous DLL, cygwin.dll. I've also used GNU-Win32, but there didn't seem
any way to persuade it to do DNS lookups, even in version 2.0. I'm open to
correction or suggestions though.
