I assume most servers log referrer stats as the previous page visited.
In my mind this actually constitutes two separate datasets: Internal and
External referrers. External referrers tell you about where people are
coming from to get to your site. Internal referrers tell you where
people go when they wander around your site.
My thought was that maybe in an upciming version of Analog, the referrer
report could be split into two reports: One that works like the current
referrer report but only showing referrers not within the current host.
The other would (and this is far from an exact science) attempt from
time, ip and user information to track user paths through the site and
then report on those paths using SORTBY, FLOOR and all the other report
commands.
Do you think this is achieveable or even something you would consider
Stephen? Does anyone else have any feedback on this? (Is this the wrong
list to post this on?:).
