Since I was the one to bring it up, I think I'll share what I've found
out since my first post... If you remember, I asked about "standard" names
for various world time zones. I've found that there probably are some, but
apparently not like you would think. It's much more complex...

   My original intention was to map one TZ to one "name" - but that
probably can't happen. There are a LOT more than 24 time zones! Some areas
offset by 30 minutes, some areas don't have Daylight time, and it gets
worse. Remember that the earth is round, so "summer" means something
different in S. America and Australia.

   Metric time is starting to look pretty good to me now... :)
