Wassup!
I have got Analog up and running (great stuff) but am having a number of
problems. I've read all the docs, browsed the mailing list archives and
have found people with similar problems, but none of the fixes
recommended to them seem to apply to me. So, here goes
[I'm running analog 3.3 on a linux system with Apache 1.3.6]
1. In the DOMAIN REPORT I get
4060: 98.67%: [unresolved numerical addresses]
31: 1.33%: .za (South Africa)
Where the top lot are internal IP addresses - why aren't they resolved?
I have pointed DOMAINSFILE to the correct file. Setting HOSTALIAS for
our domain produces
4060: 99.20%: .za (South Africa)
26: 0.80%: [unresolved numerical addresses]
Which is also confusing? Why isn't it resolving anything? Can one set
analog to output the raw IP addresses for the domains it can't resolve?
2. In the HOST REPORT I have the opposite problem:
3681: 85.62%: 196.25.178.24
210: 0.30%: 196.25.178.17
114: 10.76%: 196.25.178.23
86: 3.32%: [not listed: 3 hosts]
The top 3 are internal IP addresses but now it won't list the external
hosts. I have specified a DNS lookup file and some of the entries it
resolve to *'s. but some of the others *are* resolved to names and yet
they don't appear in the listing. Our DNS seems ot working fine on its
own and produces correct results.. Also, instead of not listing the ones
it doesn't recognise, can't analog just output the IP addresses of the
hosts?
3. When I actually run analog on the server I get:
./analog: Warning R: Turning off empty Referrer Report
./analog: Warning R: Turning off empty Failed Referrer Report
./analog: Warning R: Turning off empty Browser Summary
Why are these reports empty?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
PEACE
