That is not an acurate comparison. With cars, there is a limited amount
of land available, and the land that is there is needed for several
purposes. With the internet we can build a 12 lane highway, or a 100 lane
highway and there isn't any noticable envronmental impact or competition
for other "land" uses.
Further, since the size of the content continues to increase, and the
size of the cookie transactions stays reasonably constant, the percentage
of overhead caused by cookies goes down over time.
