I've downloaded Analog 4.01 for WinNT recently to replace our current
analyzing/reporting software. I seem to have it working fine, however it
doesn't appear to be parsing the file as I would expect. I must have my
include/exclude commands mixed up...
To give some background, we're running multiple virtual hosts each with
their own IP and domain name from this same NT server (blech). IIS is
running one single log file with every virtual host's info contained
within. Our plan is to generate multiple config files to run through the
log file to pull out the info pertinent for each virtual host.
My analog.cfg file contains both:
VHOSTINCLUDE virtual-server.com
VHOSTINCLUDE 198.145.164.49
So in theory, this would make analog run through and pull out all lines
with hits for this virtual host, right? Well my output file shows:
Successful requests: 0
Corrupt logfile lines: 7
Unwanted logfile entries: 75,429
Now, I have manually confirmed that there are *plenty* of entries in the
log file with this domain name. I've even run "analog -settings >
settings.txt" to get some output of what analog thinks its doing. It
contained the following lines:
Including (+) and excluding (-) the following virtual hosts:
All excluded, then
+ virtual-server.com
+ 198.145.164.49
What am I doing wrong here, and/or how can I get analog to retrieve lines
from the log file for each virtual domain host?
Thanks in advance,
Marcus Hecht
