In unix environments, you usually compile the program all the time. Analog is
written in good old fashioned C so it's meant to be portable. It's good
practice for a newbie (well it was for me) to be able to download, compile and
install programs that I needed: Getting through the complicated wall of tar and
gzip, and learning to understand about permissions, understanding where it all
gets installed by default and how to change that, and what errors
meant when compiling.
Although one of the precompiled versions might work, you can try this one:
