    thanks for your tip. i've already tried this in the config,
    but...:-(
    my latest test was to switch to "wwwrun" and
    "/usr/bin/gzip -cd /web/logs/logfilename" (my path to gzip)
    and i've got a lot of log-lines on my screen.
    seemed to work from the command line.
    still any idea ? ;-)
