Hello -
I asked this question a couple of weeks ago, and didn't really follow up
on the advice I was given until now.
The problem is this:
I have been running Analog happily on my RedHat 5.2 box for several
months now (Apache 1.3.12). I have several virtual hosts and run Analog
for all of them
with their own cfg files on a daily basis on cron.
However, one of my customers has just pointed out the following
(apparent) discrepancy in his stats page:
====================================================================
Analysed requests from Thu-01-Jun-2000 17:17 to Tue-27-Jun-2000 04:00
(25.4 days).
and from the general summary:
Successful requests: 3,648 (455)
But in the monthly report:
Req Pages
Jun 2000: 2243: 828:
===================================================================
As I nuke the logs every quarter and start again, how come the general
summary total for requests (3,648) does not tally with the Monthly
Report for June (2243 requests) ?
I have not got any HOSTEXCLUDE lines.
One of the suggestions was that if my logfiles are running over more
than one line, Analog will treat each line as a separate request. As far
as I can tell, they seem mainly to be on one line - example:
click-cl4-cache4.ilford.mdip.bt.net - - [02/Jun/2000:01:22:04 -0700]
"GET /happyhands/georgiafeet3.jpg HTTP/1.1" 200 2623
click-cl4-cache4.ilford.mdip.bt.net - - [02/Jun/2000:01:22:06 -0700]
"GET /happyhands/audry.jpg HTTP/1.1" 200 2724
click-cl4-cache4.ilford.mdip.bt.net - - [02/Jun/2000:01:22:07 -0700]
"GET /happyhands/babydirectorybanner.gif HTTP/1.1" 200 6877
(actually my mailer is wrapping the lines, but they appear all on one
line if I look at them in a regular text editor!)
If this is indeed the problem, has anyone got any suggestions for making
Analog produce monthly totals that match the grand totals?
Thanks!
