        yes you can in  as far as it generates the address to be used in the
domain report et al BUT because the DNS lookup happens before this it does
not speed up the running of analog and each new address found in the range
is still added to the DNS cache.

        Do not fear I am already using this and have about 50 lines and
growing of HOSTALIAS lines so that I can resolve IP addresses but I also
need to circumvent the DNS lookups for the ones I have HOSTALIAS commands
for and have the DNS lookups for the others.

        Is it possible to have a new config variable for the next release
that says do the HOSTALIAS substitution before the DNS lookup that would
solve it in one.  Making analog avoid slow unnecessary DNS lookups and keep
the DNS cache smaller.
