Well, I can't speak for Aengus, but I _have_ read the entire thread and
would have made a similar comment if he hadn't gotten there first.
Analog currently is not designed to produce statistics for different
periods of time in a single report. If you want Analog to compute these
numbers, then it has to be entirely redesigned to produce statistics for
all periods. This may be something Stephen has considered, but I would
guess he's more partial to the current FROM/TO method which allows
arbitrary periods to be covered.
If you break your logfiles into smaller chunks (say, rotate them
nightly), then producing all these period reports is very simple with
FROM/TO. You can even use the cache files to handle incremental
processing and improve your weekly and monthly report speed.
