this happens to us too, for the following reason: we run daily logs by
running analog over our whole logfile collection using the TO FROM commands.
that is, we run analog over the same bunch of logfiles again and again,
processing a different day each time. however, I'm pretty sure the data
transferred number refers to the data on *all* those logs, not just the day
being analyzed. so, when we clean up the logfiles and archive old ones, the
number drops.
