Hi All,

Good to see analog is still kicking about! I used to post here about a year ago, then
left work to go back to university and graduate. Now I have a brand new job, and lots
of log files to plough through!

The place where I work has a huge amount of stats to work through, and I'm trying to
see wether analog would still be the best solution. To give an idea, around 8 sites
here produce up to 2gb of logfiles (I think compressed and stripped of graphical hits)
a day, each. I'm trying to figure out what alternatives there might be. Of course, I'm
happy with analog and I trust it's results, but I need to build a case for it, to
prove, even to me, that it's the best solution.

Does anyone have any idea what is the next step up from analog? And how long it would
take it to go through said 2gb? I only need very rough estimates. I hear the figure is
around 20000 logfile lines a second is analog's average speed... As far as I know the
only alternatives are either using a database, which is only if you really need the
freedom to build customised queries(the suits are on xmas holidays!), or "build your
own".

Thanks,

Ale
