Ar*e! I'll reply to myself having fixed it the *second* after I clicked
send...

analog.cfg now contains the following lines and I'm now a much happier
man...

DIRSORTBY REQUESTS
DIRFLOOR -100r
SUBDIR /learning/*/*/
SUBDIRFLOOR -100r
SUBDIRSORTBY REQUESTS
DIRCHARTEXPAND /learning/

Sorry for wasting electrons - but at least this'll be archived in case
anyone else searches... (sound of a straw being clutched at)

Should've clicked Send earlier I guess.

Hello!

My first post to the list so I hope I'm following any unwritten (and
written) codes of conduct...

Situation:

www.thegrid.org.uk/learning/ has several subfolders...
www.thegrid.org.uk/learning/re/
www.thegrid.org.uk/learning/ict/
www.thegrid.org.uk/learning/mfl/

etc.

my analog .cfg file contains the following commands

FILEEXCLUDE /*
FILEINCLUDE /learning/*
DIRSORTBY REQUESTS
DIRFLOOR -10r
SUBDIR /learning/*/*/
SUBDIRFLOOR -10r
SUBDIRSORTBY REQUESTS
DIRCHARTEXPAND /learning/*/*/

but I still get a single pie-chart with no sub-categories. The top of the
output Directory Report looks like:

  reqs: %bytes: directory
------: ------: ---------
146386: 100%: /learning/
 50365: 6.14%: /learning/re/
 48629: 4.96%: /learning/re/pupil/
   683: 0.52%: /learning/re/teaching/
   154: 0.09%: /learning/re/links/
   111: 0.08%: /learning/re/news/
    78: 0.04%: /learning/re/team/
     2: : /learning/re/images/
 28236: 9.88%: /learning/literacy/
 21595: 3.41%: /learning/literacy/teaching/
  3614: 4.72%: /learning/literacy/downloads/
  1479: 0.23%: /learning/literacy/year_of_reading/
   354: 0.63%: /learning/literacy/news/
   173: 0.18%: /learning/literacy/links/
   107: 0.09%: /learning/literacy/drama/
    94: 0.08%: /learning/literacy/gifted/
    82: 0.06%: /learning/literacy/team/
    80: 0.08%: /learning/literacy/nls/
    29: : /learning/literacy/fivedaytraining/
 13891: 35.06%: /learning/ict/
  9879: 29.01%: /learning/ict/primary/

I have read the manual as best I can and searched the list archives, but I
can't seem to pinpoint my problem. I get no error messages (other than
'empty pie chart' and 'one wedge pie chart' messages) when I run analog
from the command line in a command window under Win2000.

Any help appreciated! Please forgive me if the answer is obvious, but I've
been staring at the documentation so long that everything's starting to
swim around my peripheral vision...

cheers

ian.
