How long have you left it running before it 'hangs'? I am analysing some pretty hefty log files and it usually takes a good 5-10 minutes to so one lot of analysis. A good way to see that something is happening is to run it in debug mode, and this will show you everything that is happening as it processes the log files. You should then see if it's actually doing anything.
