How long have you left it running before it 'hangs'? I am analysing some
pretty hefty log files and it usually takes a good 5-10 minutes to so one
lot of analysis. A good way to see that something is happening is to run it
in debug mode, and this will show you everything that is happening as it
processes the log files. You should then see if it's actually doing
anything.

Hope this helps.

Subject: [analog-help] Analog 5.22 vs 2.11

I have been using Analog 2.11 successfully for some years to analyse the
log files from our Library Web Catalogue, ftp'd to a
PC. Now trying version 5.22, I find that analog 'hangs' when running
against more than 2 or 3 logfiles. Typical scenario: 10 log files, min
50 Mb, max 75 Mb; 2.11 does the lot in about a minute, 5.22 stops after
opening the third (or sometimes fourth) logfile.

I thought it might have been the config settings, but I've tried a
variety of these, including LOWMEM, without any success, or much
difference in operation. The following settings complete ok for 1, 2
and 3 logfiles (3 takes about 2 minutes to complete), but not 4 or more:

LOGFILE, OUTFILE, HOSTNAME, HOSTURL, IMAGEDIR, LOGO, DEBUG ON, ALL OFF,
ALLCHART OFF

 [PC spec: P3 933 with 128Mb RAM, Windows 98]

Any suggestions?
