Well, you did say our request report had entries like /?... not
/index.,cfm?...  But you should be able to do the similar aliases as
the above to change those.

If you just want to change the request report, use REQALIAS. If you
want to change the request and Directory Reports and get hierarichal
grouping, use FILEALIAS. For details on the ALIAS commands see
http://www.analog.cx/docs/alias.html. For the above, try these:

FILEALIAS /index.cfm?ct=*&sh=update* "category updated"
FILEALIAS /index.cfm?ct=*&sh=friend* "category friend"
FILEALIAS /index.cfm?ct=* "category browsing"
