well.... both. is there a difference.... ?
yes, I can see it fails to open the log files, that was my original Q, is there
something thataltered in the way Analog
expects input files specified, since version 5 ?

yes.
I have a few of these in such a format:
E:\analog]dir \users\sbt.net.au\logs\access*
...
29/09/97 18:37 394 0 access.sep2997.gz
1/10/98 0:08 12326 0 access.sep301998.gz
1/10/99 0:03 31691 0 access.sep301999.gz
30/09/97 19:07 315 0 access.sep3097.gz
804 file(s) 10791732 bytes used
and, some like this:
29/09/00 11:46 59032 0 www.sbt.net.au.SEP272000.gz
30/09/00 11:35 80324 0 www.sbt.net.au.SEP282000.gz
1/10/00 11:32 63960 0 www.sbt.net.au.SEP292000.gz
2/10/00 11:21 44422 0 www.sbt.net.au.SEP302000.gz
911 file(s) 40124948 bytes used
again, all of this worked purrfectly with Analog 3 and Analog 4, the config file file
specs were not altered for a year or two
