We keep our build systems virus free and clean, so the binaries are as
well. But, of course, you would expect that from us, I think. If you
want feedback from other Report Magic users, I think (as Jim
mentioned) the reportmagic-help mailing list is a better resource. See
http://www.reportmagic.com/lists.html for subscription instructions.

As for security holes, I am reasonable certain that Report Magic is
safe (at lease as safe as Analog). It IS NOT meant to be used as a CGI
application and IS NOT safe in that situation. As long as you don't
have unauthorized users with access to it, you should have no security
issues.

If you are still uncomfortable about the binaries, you can install
ActivePerl (http://www.activestate.com/activeperl/) and run the source
edition. You'll have to install the modules, by hand, but it should be
fairly easy. I believe they are all in the PPM repository, now.
