It depends on what information you're after. For instance, I have a report
where I look for possible intruders (nimda, codered and that lot). We give
them a special treatment and so occasionally I peruse the report that
reports such suspected intruders. I am interested in how frequent they are,
and what the actual requests are, such that I can instruct apache to deal
with appropriately.

You could be studying the processing time of various scripts; optimisation
might help your users response-time. You could be looking at bandwidth
usage to try to plan for the next line upgrade. You could be looking for
404s to report them to your developers.
Maybe you get paid for certain requests made and you'll want to bill
whoevers is paying you for those requests.

What is it you'd really like to have then ? If the information is available
in your webserver logs, it can be extracted. Perhaps not necessarily by
analog, although it will a lot.
