One thing you might try is to add a line like:

#define NOALARM

to anlghea3.h near the top, perhaps right after the line:

/*** OS specific things ***/

then recompile and see if that makes any difference. That will turn off 
alarms, which caused problems on another system, OS X, at one time.


I suspect that this is really a problem with your DNS server, not with 
Analog. If the DNS server was to crash or hang for some reason that would 
cause the same effect. I don't know if you are using your own DNS server, 
or one from your ISP, but getting some information about various peoples 
DNS servers might help us spot a pattern.
