The following works, but you would need to enter it manually daily.

where y=year, m=month, d=date, h=hour, m=minute
00 18 * * * ~/usr/local/analog/analog +Fyymmdd:hhmm +Tyymmdd:hhmm
or
00 18 * * * ~/usr/local/analog/analog +Fyymmdd +Tyymmdd

It might be better to modify the daily 11:59 p.m. cron job one time.

59 23 * * * ~/usr/local/analog/analog +F-00-00-00
or
59 23 * * * ~/usr/local/analog/analog +F-00-00-00:-24+01

The following area in the documentation contains useful information:

I am running analog-5.22 in a website on an unix FreeBSD "virtual personal server" (VPS) at NTT/Verio in the USA.

Verio supports the basic analog installation and operation (including analog.cfg lOGFILE an OUTFILE entries); but not other analog.cfg entries & crons, etc. - which are the responsibility of the user, such as myself.

The analog directory is located by verio in the local directory and is run by a daily 11:59 PM cron - or can be run manually - with the path ~/usr/local/analog/analog.

However, the way it is set up by verio, I have to update the analog.cfg FROM and TO dates manually each day so that the 11:59 PM cron will run analog for the current day's just completed access_log entries - which I do around 6 PM each day by over-writing the dates through Fetch

What I need help in is writing a cron - for placement, together with other, non-analog crons, in a cronjobs file in the virtual root directory - which will run the analog.cfg FROM and TO update at 6 PM each day automatically, prior to the daily 11:59 PM operation of the analog-running cron.

I believe that for the 6 PM daily timing, and for routing of the command to the analog directory, the update cron would start out something like

O 18 * * * ~/usr/local/analog

but I am not sufficiently unix-instructed as how to compose the cron-completing analog.cfg FROM and TO update of the analog.cfg file in the analog directory

Can someone help me in this?

Thanks.
