There have been numerous discussions over the years comparing Analog to Webtrends. They are all listed in the archives. If you do a search of the the archives (see link at the bottom of each email) for "Webtrends" you should find some interesting and useful information to use as talking points in your arguments.
One problem I've had is that I prefer Analog due to the fact it does not create imaginary stats like 'length of visit' but the sales-types *like* that sort of number, so you have to try to explain that you cannot really determine such a stat in any reliable way.
That and the fact that management really likes the 'pretty charts and graphs' of WebTrends has been the biggest hurdle.
Right now we use AWStats and Analog, and let them choose which report the want to look at. Either way it's better than trying to support WebTrends. ;)
