No need to be rude, I had tried a single %j and as I get now, it reported the following:
................................
Processing...
analog: analog version 6.0/Mac
analog: Warning C: Not enough arguments for configuration command: ignoring
it:
DEFAULTLOGFORMAT
(For help on all errors and warnings, see docs/errors.html)
analog: Warning R: Turning off empty Search Word Report
analog: Warning R: In Domain Report, turning off pie chart of only one wedge
analog: Warning R: In Directory Report, turning off pie chart of only one
wedge
Complete!
................................
My error is in not immediately checking the report.html with this result but tried further adding a space between the"B" %j) which then created a corrupt LOGFORMAT report in with a Debug report for some 20 or 30 lines which gave the impression of the major problem still remaining, however on checking this actually gives a 90%plus accurate report.html.
The shifted Debug C report asterisk* compounded the problem.
I can now live with the minor errors the log files give me, pending any updates or corrections from BT.
I am grateful for your support, I have learned a lot from the exercise and perhaps before I go I can pass on one of the lessons we both should learn, that this could have save both you and I time, if you had simply sent or posted the COMBINED LOGFORMAT with the added %j in the correct place. It would have saved me time and more importantly you your own time spent replying.
Finally Analog is an excellent tool and I would recommend it to anyone wanting desktop log file analysis and shall continue using it in preference to other options, I shall just continue to harrass the isp for creating an unnecessary problem!
Best regards
David

I'm embarrassed that I have to spell this out for you - how many extra
fields do you want to ignore after the Browser (%B)?
Here's your sample logfile line:
62.253.96.44 - - [09/Nov/2005:23:38:41 +0000] "GET
/hooklinks/pike/articles/artindex.html HTTP/1.1" 200 4819 "FROM
http://www.hooklinks.co.uk/pike/navigation2/homenav2.html" "Mozilla/4.0
(compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; Hotbar
4.6.1)" -
62.253.96.44 is %S
- is %j
- is %u
[09/Nov/2005:23:38:41 +0000] is [%d/%M/%Y:%h:%n:%j]
"GET /hooklinks/pike/articles/artindex.html HTTP/1.1" is "%j%w%r%wHTTP%j"
200 is %c
4819 is %b
"FROM http://www.hooklinks.co.uk/pike/navigation2/homenav2.html" is "%f"
"Mozilla/4.0 (...)" is "%B"
