This is new for me, so I'm wondering if anyone else has any insight.
I just ran my monthly statistics on one of my web servers, and for the
first time ever the bytes transferred column is populated. I'm
delighted to see that (and by the way, can one change the % bytes to
an actual number, e.g. 54MB instead of %38?), but on the flip side my
list of Domains is nearly empty.

The previous month's YTD report (I do a year-to-date summary in
addition to each month's report, and I thankfully didn't overwrite
that) lists more than 30 Subdomains; the latest YTD lists four. Add
to that the unwanted logfile entries (even after I removed the one
HOSTEXCLUDE I had in there) is several thousand, which seems
excessive.

I guess what I'm asking is what the heck is going on? Is there any
reason why Analog might be misbehaving? I'm trying to find out from
our IT guys if they changed anything on the server, which I suspect
is the culprit. I'd just like to verify that nothing in Analog would
cause this to happen.

If your reports have changed, it's because someone has changed your logfiles or your analog.cfg file - analog didn't change itself.

If your logfiles are now includeing bytes, and they didn't before, then either someone has changed the configuration of the server to log that additional information, or they have changed the analog.cfg file to either look at an entirely different set of logs, or to use a different set of rules to parse the existing logs.

Given that the number of Domains you're seeing on a YTD basis has dropped dramatically, the simplest explanation is that you are not looking at the same logfiles that you were looking at before. If this is a shared server, either someone has moved your logfiles, or they've changed your virtual server and you're now looking at someone elses logfiles.

But it's unlikely that anyone on this list can tell you for sure - you should ask whoever is running the web servers.
