Yes - IIS will only log something once. But Analog will happily run
against a months worth of daily logs, or create a report of a single
days activity from a monthly log file. The choice of whether to create
daily or monthly log files is really down to file management - if you
expect to be working with the logfiles (to create custom reports, or to
use them to debug specific issues with your server), daily log files may
be more useful, because they're smaller if you need to open them in a
text editor. If you only expect to run a routine report once a month,
then monthly files are "tidier".

I'd recommend sticking with daily log files while you are still getting
familiar with IIS 6, and may be making changes to it. You can easily
change to monthly logs later, if you want.
