I have some fairly large logs to crunch (40-50Mb each, maybe 6 or more analysed together) and analog is taking a long time (several hours) to 'crunch' these. However, the machine's not busy and analog is showing as using 0% CPU.

My suspicion is that analog may be throttling DNS queries but this is only a guess. Something seems to be causing it to take a long time to complete although it's clearly not working hard on the data.

As the analog documentation mentions, "Because analog's DNS lookups use only standard, platform-independent code, they are slower than lookups optimised for particular platforms. (This is especially true on platforms without the DNSTIMEOUT command described below.)"

For larger log files you may want to look at the helper applications at http://www.analog.cx/helpers/index.html#dns instead.
