Today I was playing with a real G1 phone on loan from our marketing dept. It had the Gmail application on it and I clicked it. Whoa! It opened the mailbox of the person who had used it before me. 1) I tried to search on the phone, but there was no way I could sign out of the GMail application.
2) I could not find a way to sign in using my username and password.
