Sorry, could you be a bit more specific? By 'modify the current
contacts app' do you mean duplicate the code in my application? If so,
that sounds kind of like option three. If you mean modify the contacts
app by itself, then I'm not sure how this would work in the case of my
application. I'm under the assumption that the application which users
will download comes as a single APK, and as such couldn't really
modify the contacts app, unless it re-directed it to the APK for my
application?

Unless I'm missing something?
