However, I still have troubles with Android (1.6 on Android Dev Phone 1 = HTC 1) not indexing mp3 files. Tutorial says its enough to connect USB, mount a drive and copy mp3 files directly from my PC to a chosen folder on Android's SC card. That's what I do and some files are shown in Android's "Music", while other - not. I cannot find a pattern, a difference between visible and invisible files. Often part of files in directory are visible and part - not. I don't see any difference in mp3 file properties / tags (use Mp3tag application). It appears that Android keeps some cache and fails to sync it / re- index files. I tried Manage Applications => Music => Clear Data and Media Storage => Clear Data (clear cache was disabled in both; what's Media Storage by the way?) Then I turned OFF and ON my phone. At first, it showed no albums, then started to show a couple of albums (with only some songs in one of them), while much more folders with mp3 files are still on a SD card (it seems that Clear Data command did not delete any mp3 files).
Does anyone experience something similar? Any ideas? --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Beginners" group.
