You are not alone. I too am trying to get 2.0 running on ubuntu 9.10 and am having the same problem. I did add the line "sdkman.force.http=true" to .android/androidtools.cfg, which at least got me a list of all the available components. But clicking on "Install Selected" produced nothing. If you find a solution please post it here and I will do the same.
