I had went around with this for sometime my first day too. It will show up however keep in mind it is basically starting an operating system on your computer. It takes alot of resources to get it started and a few minutes. Once the Android text clears you will see the unlock slider then home screen and then your app. I usually run my app to get it started from my last compile to give it time while I continue development and will leave it open for the rest of the day, and sometimes 2.
