I made my submission public last week at: http://allbinary.axspace.com/. I think it is good to due it as long as it was after the initial deadline date. Google would have expectations before the initial deadline.
If your competition can copy what you have in 2 weeks then you will probably lose anyways. They might take an idea or 2 in that time, but most likely that will only raise all boats in the end. Just keep it closed if you have 2 easy to copy but importantly unique features.
