two or three cents:

I think the speculation on the message boards is funny. I enjoyed
engaging in it and adding my own set of neuroses to the lot (mine was
around whether we would *ever* know the numbers. I thought Muthu said
they were going to keep it *permanently* secret and that was killing
me!). What was funnier were requests for (further!) deadline
extensions, special considerations, etc... (admittedly it reminded me
of a couple of instances around exam times in college..)

I want to take an informal poll: Are there ANY women here? Besides me?
There must be more than the one I am aware of? Out of 1,788 teams??
This is some sad representation.

And I can't even be the stereotype breaker with some uber-geek street
cred. status since I am a concept person, i.a. and u.i. designer
( relatively geeky but not here ) . A pixel pusher, picture maker who
is allergic to code. A techie to non-techies, a designer to techies
(like my Challenge partner who had to show me how to log into Unix on
my Mac to see the builds, since I hadn't seen a non- gui for 10
years).

Ah, well. One can only be good at what one is good at, (whether it
breaks stereotypes or not!) and hope their killer application rocks
the Android Challenge, right?
