The greed & naivete here is rather astounding. First let me echo Jazz. The diff between Google & Apple is wildly apparent here to those watching venture funds & VC funded companies.
While Google is giving away $10M, Apple isn't simply being a puppet for his buddies at Kleiner Perkins & Caulfield (KPC). Yeah it's $100M, but it will go to a very small number of startups with very well placed founders in exchange for a 51% equity stake. Not only would KPC kick 99% of us out of our own companies and take our ideas (as few of us have the CEO-level experience that they would demand), but they'd squeeze us so we'd be lucky to get 5% of our company in the end. At least with Google's Challenge, you have the possibility of bootstrapping into your own successful venture. Watch...Apple will be lucky to get 50 entries submitted to its iFund. And puleez, no more silly requests for an Android phone until you start demanding free iPhones from Apple for developing on their OS. If your idea is that great, then team up with some friends & go in on a few Android phones. The competition in the Round II Challenge will be dramatically less than Round I so your odds are much higher. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Challenge" group.
