Hi Alex.
It’s impossible get acceleration readings for this application using
GPS.
For a precise reading, you will need high precision 3 axis
accelerometers to reduce the error when the car jumps at the start,
make small turns or when change gears abruptly.
Android will have MEMS accelerometers, but I don’t have idea about
precision, temperature compensation and other factors. All this
factors needs be considered to get useful measurements.
