Thanks for the clarification, I can stop pulling my hair out searching for a solution now :)
It's a shame it didn't make the cut, although I understand the line had to be drawn somewhere. But I worry that end users are not going to be at all interested to install 3rd party OS builds. And I assume, possibly incorrectly, that it's impossible to bundle native libraries with applications? Which I suppose means I'll just have to wait until it's incorporated into the core distribution. Which brings to another point. Where is the feature roadmap? It makes me very reluctant to take the development risk. It's okay to wave the OS flag and say anything is possible, but what is going to count is what makes it into the core distribution, and whether handset providers plan to adopt the new versions, and when. As a developer it's impossible to plan otherwise. Anyway sorry for the rant. On the other hand I'm very pleased that the platform is Java based and includes fairly decent opengl support, look forward to ES 2.0 ;) Peter --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Developers" group.
