Sorry Mark, but in this particular instance, you don't know what you are talking about. The API's I use cannot prevent another app from running, certainly not the home screen app. Press HOME from either of my lock screen apps and you will exit the lock screen securely (with pattern/pin/password entry if that's how your phone is setup).
