Sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't. I have a couple of paid apps where I can do this, and one where it has consistently failed. On a G1 1.6 and N1 2.2, as it happens. So I can't consider this a reliable solution - and even at best, it's a hack. We still need an official way to reply to comments.
