Another thing to consider is that Android will not be limited to the G1
phone. If you are looking for a pure development machine, there are rumours
that the OpenMoko Freerunner (which does not have G3) will soon be able to
run Android. That is certainly a more open phone than the G1 will ever be.
Others will follow.
