Certainly the sale of intellectual property --patents, copyrights, etc -- is quite common. The trick is finding a marketplace for your specific property. If it's "just another game" then most houses that distribute these things would probably prefer to pay one of their hacks to duplicate you game than pay you for it. (Yeah, in theory you may have a copyright on the "presentation" or "look and feel" or whatever, but you can't afford the lawyers to enforce that.)
Your best bet is to find an outfit that sells multiple games of the same genre as yours and approach them.
