I like the 325 character limit on the market description. That said, I think TreKing's idea of a "more" button is perfect.
The developer writes a quick synopsis in the 325 characters and if that's enough to grab the attention of the potential customer, a "more" button with perhaps no limit but set up in pages would be perfect. With this method, hardly anything would be require changing in the market app besides adding the button.
