Doug, I agree, the Android OS and tool chain is really impressive. The documentation and examples could use a little work but a lot of independent developers (Mark Murphy, for example) have extended them in very useful ways.
There remain some substantial weaknesses in the Android Marketplace and in Google's marketing in general.
