I am not trying to ignore their desires but to offer them
an option.  If they choose to accept a new default program, mine,
then great and they can continue with trying it out.

If the choose not to reassign the default then that was their choice.

So right now, the option is to choose an app for the search long
long press,  No app is assigned to it yet I have the problem that
I listed.   That seems to be the primary problem.  Secondarily, even
if
is is assigned, I would still like to offer them the option.

But neither works because the 'Use by default' doesn't come up.  The
behavior of this is more like the chooser versus pick activity. (From
my understanding)
