Thanks for your response, I apologize for my attitude. In academia we theorize all these wonderful new systems and then go assume they will be implementable on real world hardware.
Do you think in any version of Android we will be able to reprogram the part of the phone that displays the incoming call and generates the ringtone? I mistakenly assumed that it would be a simple task. I would definitely rather not be forced to fork the firmware to get at this functionality. You think I should be looking into the firmware code at source.android.com?
