Hi Brett,

RE: Android Application for people with Brain Injury

I apologise for the delay in reply but I have been creating the proof
of concept for the project which took longer than I thought.

The project is called Outminder and is designed to use the Android
phone as an external memory for people with head injury, memory issues
or learning difficulties.

It stores the tasks you want to achieve outside of the home during the
day and breaks them down into a linear pattern of steps.

Here’s a trip to the doctors...
1. Leave home
2. Catch bus
3. Get off at correct stop
4. Go to doctors
5. Go to pharmacy
6. Catch bus home
7. Get off at correct stop
8. Walk to home

We plan to make Outminder work out the correct pathway locations and
timings for the journey by accessing most of Google applications
including Google’s Maps (including Latitude and Navigate), Calendar,
and Contacts.

All the user need do is put in what they want to do during the day
including anything that has a set appointment time and Outminder works
out the pathway for all the journeys. I.e. the user simply says
‘Doctors at 2.15pm’, ‘Library’ and ‘Grocery Shopping ‘and Outminder
breaks up the journey and works out which bus to catch and at what
time etc...

As long as the user is in the correct place (via GPS Lat/Long) at the
correct time Outminder signs each step off as completed. Should the
user not reach a location within the time specified it alerts the user
and asks what they want to do to resolve the issue.

We have a website where we are planning to invite those people who
want to help us to join and each person will be given an element to
work on that matches their availability and time. You can join to
follow how we progress.
.

I need a Gmail email address for you so I can invite you to join us.
It need not be your personal one, simply one you have set up for the
project.

I hope you forgive the long pause in writing but when you see the
proof of concept I have created you will see why it took me so long.
It is available on the Google website for you to download to your
emulator or phone once I have your Gmail address to invite you to
join.

Many thanks for your kind offer.

Look forward to hearing from you soon
